National Champion!

Year 12 student and gymnastic superstar, Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva has had a very busy first half of the year!

Her gymnastics season started with a major trip to three World Cups, where she spent four weeks travelling to three countries: Bulgaria, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, to represent Australia in high level competitions. Upon return to Australia, Alexandra had one month to prepare for the Australian Gymnastics Championship - a two week long event for elite gymnasts.

There was a lot of pressure on Alexandra to defend her 2018 National Title and strengthen her position as the leading Rhythmic Gymnast in Australia.
After 4 days at the Melbourne Arena (former Hisense Arena), Alexandra is now an undeniable 2019 Australian Senior International Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion, winning 6 out of 6 possible gold medals in the highest division of the sport.

Her medals were: an All-Around Gold medal that comes with a National Champion title, a gold medal for the Team result which she shared with her Victorian teammates and 4 gold medals for each individual apparatus giving her a Championship Title for each one of them. Alexandra was also awarded an Athlete of distinction for 2018 for her achievements at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and for representing Australia at The 2018 World Championship, Gymnastics Australia's Gymnast of the Year 2018 Award and was selected into the 2019/2020 Australian Rhythmic Gymnastics National Team.

What an achievement! Now Alexandra can take a short break from gymnastics and concentrate on her mid-year VCE exams!
